Trail Length: 10.8 miles

This trail would be fine for any SUV, with a wide, dirt road the entire length. The views are spectacular for the entire trail, making this a very popular trip for many residents and tourists.

It is very easy to find, conveniently located next to a very large and clean rest area at I-70 exit 190. It's also a great way to cut between I-70 and Red Cliff if you wish to get to other trails in the area. It is the most convenient way to get to McAllister Gulch and Ptarmigan Pass, as well.

It starts off as a wide dirt road and there is always enough room to pass an oncoming vehicle. There are a few wider areas where you can stop to take pictures. There is also a popular hiking trail near the I-70 side, with ample parking at the trailhead.

Though this is a dusty trail it provides some beautiful views and a nice day in the mountains for almost any vehicle.
